Pearl

Mainly contains calcium carbonate. Natural pearls of the pearl oyster contain calcium carbonate, organic matter, and water. The inorganic elements in pearls include aluminum, copper, iron, magnesium, manganese, sodium, zinc, silicon, titanium, strontium, etc.

1. Anti-aging effect: silkworm larvae fed high-quality mulberry leaves soaked in pearl powder solution showed that the pearl powder of Hyriopsis cumingii significantly shortened the larval stage while substantially prolonging the adult stage, with the low-concentration group showing the most pronounced effect; the 5% group prolonged silkworm lifespan by 2.33%. 2. Antioxidant effect: the total porphyrin component (PFC) extracted from Hyriopsis cumingii pearls, and its fractions, had half-inhibitory luminescence rates (IC50 μg/mL) against superoxide anion of PFC-70, PFC-A140, PFC-B124, PFC-C151, PFC-D706, respectively, indicating that PFC and its separated products can inhibit free-radical reactions and clear superoxide anions in the body. 3. Anti-tumor effect: mice intraperitoneally injected with PFC 40 mg/kg daily for 9 consecutive days showed significant inhibition of mouse sarcoma S180, with an inhibition rate of 34.8%.
