What's Inside

Ingredients

Leaves contain flavonoids, including luteolin, apigenin, luteolin-7-O-glucuronide, apigenin-7-O-glucuronide, etc. Both root and leaf contain 2 kinds of tetracyclic diterpenes: calliterpenone and calliterpenone monoacetate.

Therapeutic Effects

This herb has a strong effect of contracting intestinal wall smooth muscle and shortening bleeding time, and has varying degrees of in vitro bacteriostasis. This herb also has an analgesic effect. Using Kunming mice and the acetic acid writhing method to study the analgesic effect of Beautyberry leaf extract and some components, it was found that the crude Beautyberry leaf extract as well as some triterpene and flavonoid compounds significantly reduce the number of writhes in mice.
