Mainly contains paederoside, paederoside B (secondary paederoside), γ-sitosterol, arbutin, oleanolic acid, volatile oil, and unsaturated fatty acids, etc.

The total alkaloids of this product can inhibit isolated intestinal muscle contraction and antagonize acetylcholine-induced intestinal muscle spasm. The injection can antagonize histamine-induced intestinal muscle contraction and has good analgesic and sedative effects. In addition, this product also has blood-pressure-lowering, antibacterial, and expectorant effects.
