Mainly contains enzymes, the principal components of which are amylase, invertase, etc. It also contains hordenine and other alkaloids, lecithin, α-tocotrienol, and barley embryo glycosides, etc.

This product aids digestion and lowers blood sugar; it has a bidirectional regulatory effect on milk secretion (small doses promote lactation, large doses suppress lactation). Hordenine has effects similar to ephedrine and has antifungal activity. In addition, this product also has blood-lipid-lowering and liver-protecting effects.
