What's Inside

Ingredients

Mainly contains phenolic glycosides: 3,4-dihydroxyphenylethanol glucoside, phloridzin, etc.; tannins: D-catechin, L-epicatechin, etc.

Therapeutic Effects

1. Hemostatic effect: Cirrhosa Yam decoction 1.5 g/kg by gavage significantly shortens bleeding and coagulation time in rabbits. Cirrhosa Yam extract has a platelet-like procoagulant effect. 2. Effect on uterine smooth muscle: Cirrhosa Yam tincture or decoction markedly excites the isolated mouse uterus, enhancing uterine smooth muscle tension, contraction amplitude, and frequency. 3. Bacteriostatic effect: Cirrhosa Yam tincture or decoction in vitro has moderate inhibition of Staphylococcus aureus, and weaker inhibition of Salmonella paratyphi A and Shigella sonnei. The bacteriostatic effect may be related to the tannins contained in Cirrhosa Yam.
