This herb mainly contains hemostatic components such as agrimonin, the principal components being agrimonolide A, B, etc., six kinds.

Therapeutic Effects

This herb has anticoagulant and antithrombotic effects. The aqueous extract intraperitoneally injected prolongs bleeding time and plasma thromboplastin time in rats, and also inhibits aggregation of ADP and collagen in platelet-rich plasma. In addition, this herb has antitumor, antiparasitic, and antibacterial effects.
