Ingredients

The seeds of Amomum xanthioides contain volatile oil, whose main components are d-camphor, a terpene (similar to limonene but not limonene), d-borneol, bornyl acetate, linalool and nerolidol. The volatile oil of Amomum villosum and its leaves is similar to that of the seeds, containing borneol, bornyl acetate, camphor, limonene, etc.

Therapeutic Effects

This herb has anti-ulcer effects, inhibits gastric acid secretion, promotes gastrointestinal motility, and inhibits platelet aggregation. A low-concentration decoction stimulates isolated guinea pig intestines, whereas a high-concentration decoction has an inhibitory effect.
