The root tuber of Stephania tetrandra contains alkaloids: tetrandrine, fangchinoline, cyclanoline, oxofangchirine, stephasinine, berbamine, 2,2'-N,N-dichloromethyltetrandrine, tetrandrine A, tetrandrine B, tetrandrine C and tetrandrine D.
