Chinese Ephedra Root

This product contains various alkaloids, the main components being ephedradine, ephedradine A, ephedradine B, ephedradine C, ephedradine D and feruloylhistamine, etc.; it also contains biflavonoids such as maokonin A, maokonin B, maokonin C, maokonin D and ephedraphenol.

Ephedradine has a blood-pressure-raising effect, while ephedradine A and B have blood-pressure-lowering effects. Ephedra Root extract weakens the contraction of the isolated frog heart, dilates peripheral blood vessels, and contracts the smooth muscle of the intestine and uterus.
