What's Inside

Ingredients

Contains tannins, wax, resin, mannitol, sugar, gum, inulin, mucilage, gallic acid, malic acid, pectin and calcium oxalate, and isoquercitrin.

Therapeutic Effects

1. Antibacterial action: in vitro, a Pomegranate Peel decoction has antibacterial action against the four dysentery bacilli Shigella dysenteriae (Shiga), S. schmitzii, S. flexneri and S. sonnei, with the strongest action against S. dysenteriae, next against S. schmitzii and S. flexneri, and weaker against S. sonnei. Comparing the in vitro bactericidal power of various Chinese herbs against Salmonella typhi, Vibrio cholerae and staphylococcus, it is proven that Pomegranate Peel has the strongest inhibitory action against Salmonella typhi.

2. Antiviral action: in vitro, Pomegranate Peel extract has multi-stage anti-herpes simplex virus type 2 (HSV-2) activity, especially marked in direct inactivation and hindering HSV-2 adsorption.

3. Anthelmintic action: Pomegranate Peel decoction has an intestinal-parasite-expelling effect. Its mechanism acts on the muscle of the parasites, causing them to fall into sustained contraction and thereby achieve the parasite-expelling effect.
