The whole plant contains tannins, and also triterpene saponins, anthocyanins, and various amino acids including proline, and polysaccharides. It also contains volatile components, mainly palmitic acid and oleic acid.

Therapeutic Effects

Cynomorium can stimulate haematopoietic function and markedly increase the production rate of granulocyte-macrophage progenitor cells in mice. It can promote the formation of immunoglobulin and enhance immune function.
