Therapeutic Effects

The golden hairs of Gouji have a marked hemostatic effect on traumatic bleeding and appear capable of being absorbed and degraded by tissues. They show reliable and rapid hemostatic effects on bleeding from scar tissue and injuries of the liver and spleen in rabbits and dogs, and may increase platelet levels. Gouji also has astringent, antidiarrheal, and antibacterial effects.
