Therapeutic Effects

Injection of the ethanol extract of gecko into mice can prolong the oestrous period of normal female mice, can also cause oestrus in ovariectomized mice, and increases the weight of the uterus and ovaries (in normal mice). Using the weights of the mouse prostate, seminal vesicles and levator ani muscle as indices, the extract of gecko (species not specified) can show an androgen-like effect.
