Ingredients

The root of Adenophora contains triterpene saponins and starch.

Therapeutic Effects

1. Expectorant effect: the expectorant effect of Adenophora decoction on rabbits is weaker than that of Aster, but it can last for more than 4 hours. 2. Cardiotonic effect: 1% Adenophora infusion has a marked cardiotonic effect on the isolated toad heart, with the amplitude of 7/9 isolated hearts increasing (by more than 50% over the original), and the effect lasting 5 minutes. 3. Antifungal effect: Adenophora water infusion (1:2) has inhibitory effects of varying degrees in test tubes on dermatophytes such as Microsporum audouinii and Microsporum lanosum.
