Ingredients

The rhizome contains volatile oil, with an aromatic odor; the oil contains α-pinene and β-pinene, linalool, eugenol, limonene, α-terpineol, linalyl acetate and terpinolene, etc.

Therapeutic Effects

It significantly inhibits inflammatory reactions and secondary inflammation induced by adjuvant injection in rats. At high doses, it also inhibits xylene-induced ear swelling in mice, indicating anti-inflammatory activity. It also improves symptoms of secondary arthritis in rats, suggesting anti-rheumatoid-arthritis effects, and has some analgesic activity.
