Ingredients
The seed of Cuscuta contains flavonoids including quercetin, astragalin, hyperin, and quercetagetin-3-O-beta-D-galactoside-7-O-beta-D-glucoside.
Therapeutic Effects
The decoction, infusion and tincture of dodder seed can enhance the contractile force of the isolated toad heart; as regards heart rate, the former increases it while the latter two decrease it. Its effect on anaesthetized animals is to lower blood pressure, reduce splenic volume and inhibit intestinal movement, and it shows an excitatory effect on the isolated uterus.
