Therapeutic Effects

1. Effect on the cardiovascular system: the methanol extract of Alpinia oxyphylla has a cardiotonic effect, has calcium-antagonist activity on rabbit aorta, and also has an anti-gastric-injury effect. 2. Other effects: the alcohol extract of Alpinia oxyphylla inhibits prostaglandin and can raise the peripheral blood leukocyte count in mice.
