The stems and leaves of Epimedium contain icariin; the leaves also contain volatile oil, ceryl alcohol, hentriacontane, phytosterols, tannins, and fats. The fatty acids in the fatty oil include palmitic acid, stearic acid, oleic acid, and linoleic acid.
