What's Inside

Ingredients

Yangqicai contains alginic acid, crude protein, mannitol, ash, potassium, and iodine. Haizaozi contains alginic acid, crude protein, mannitol, ash, potassium, and iodine, and also contains sargassan polysaccharide, whose components include D-galactose, D-mannose, D-xylose, L-fucose, D-glucuronic acid, and polypeptides.

Therapeutic Effects

1. Blood-lipid-lowering effect: foreign reports have stated that various seaweeds (species unidentified) can lower the cholesterol content in the serum or organs of rats (high-fat diet), and it is believed that the sterols contained, especially beta-sitosterol, have the strongest effect. Sodium alginate has a cholesterol-lowering effect but not markedly, and it can inhibit the growth of rats. 2. Blood volume expander: its volume-expanding efficacy is similar to that of dextran, with no harm to the liver, spleen, kidney, or bone marrow, generally no allergy, and it can enhance hematopoietic function.
