Ingredients

This product contains triterpenoid saponins active on animal uterine smooth muscle and polysaccharides with antitumor activity.

Therapeutic Effects

1. Daily intragastric administration of the alcohol extract of this product for 5 consecutive days has a marked inhibitory effect on rat formaldehyde-induced arthritis; its extracted saponins given intragastrically also have a marked effect of promoting the subsidence of inflammatory swelling in rat egg-white arthritis. 2. The fluid extract or decoction can cause contraction of isolated rabbit uterus whether pregnant or not; it can strengthen the contraction of weakly contracting isolated mouse uterus; it has a relaxing effect on the non-pregnant cat uterus but causes strong contraction of the pregnant uterus; it mostly has a relaxing effect on the pregnant or non-pregnant guinea pig uterus.
