This product contains indigo, indican, indirubin, indolinone B, glucobrassicin, and volatile constituents, among others.

Therapeutic Effects

The decoction of this product inhibits Staphylococcus aureus, Group A streptococci, pneumococci, dysentery bacilli, and Bordetella pertussis; it also inhibits influenza virus, mumps virus, and others; and it can enhance the phagocytic activity of leukocytes.

Precautions

Avoid use in patients with deficiency-cold of the spleen and stomach, as its bitter-cold nature may impair stomach function.
