Ingredients

This product contains triterpenoid compounds, the main constituents being arundoin, cylindrin, taraxerol, and friedelin, among others.

Therapeutic Effects

1. Antipyretic effect: Oral administration of 1–20 g/kg of Lophatherum gracile to artificially febrile rats produces an antipyretic effect. Its active constituents are water-soluble but poorly soluble in alcohol. 2. Diuretic effect: Its diuretic effect is weaker than that of Polyporus and Akebia stem, but it promotes urinary chloride excretion more strongly than Polyporus and related herbs.

Precautions

Use with caution in the absence of excess fire or damp-heat; contraindicated in those with constitutional deficiency and cold.
