It contains cinnamic acid, betaine, kukoamine A, lyciumoside A, lyciumoside B, linoleic acid, linolenic acid, phenolic compounds, and related constituents.

Therapeutic Effects

The decoction of this product can inhibit Salmonella typhi, Salmonella paratyphi A, and Shigella flexneri; it can also significantly improve the decrease in IL-2 in spleen cells of mice caused by cyclophosphamide. The aqueous and ethanol extracts have strong antipyretic effects. Decoctions, extracts, tinctures, and injections all have hypotensive effects. Decoctions and extracts also have hypoglycemic, lipid-lowering, and uterine-stimulating effects.
