What's Inside

Ingredients

Reed rhizome contains coixol, as well as proteins, fats, carbohydrates, and asparagine. Reed shoots contain 48%–54% cellulose, about 18.2% lignin, about 12.4% xylan, and 2.8% ash. Hydrolysis of the polysaccharides yields D-xylose, L-arabinose, D-glucose, D-galactose, and two uronic acids.

Therapeutic Effects

This product has antipyretic and antiemetic effects, can slightly lower blood glucose, and can inhibit cardiac contraction. The tricin it contains can relax intestinal smooth muscle and slow peristalsis. In addition, reed rhizome also has antibacterial and gallstone-dissolving effects.

Precautions

Use with caution in patients with deficiency-cold of the spleen and stomach.
