Ingredients

The stems of Mussaenda contain triterpenoid saponins, including hanceagenin A; phenolic glycosides, including mussaendosides A, B, C, D, E, H, S, I, and J. The aerial parts contain phenolic glycosides mussaendosides L, M, and N, as well as four iridoid glycosides.

Therapeutic Effects

The constituents caffeic acid and ferulic acid contained in this product show different degrees of anti–early pregnancy effect in mice, and it was found that the aqueous decoction and the 81% ethanol precipitate of Shangancao are the active fractions responsible for this effect.
