Ingredients

The bark of the ash tree contains aesculin, fraxin, lactucin, pinoresinol, and other constituents.

Therapeutic Effects

1. Anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects: Intraperitoneal injection of 10 mg/kg aesculin in rats inhibits carrageenan-, dextran-, serotonin-, and histamine-induced arthritis. 2. Effects on urine volume and uric acid excretion: In experiments in rats and rabbits, aesculin increased uric acid excretion by various routes of administration.

Precautions

Avoid use in patients with deficiency-cold of the spleen and stomach.
