Evatamiq

The whole plant of Ervatamia divaricata contains indole alkaloids such as coronaridine, voacangine, and related alkaloids. The aerial parts contain 23-cycloartane-3β,25-diol, 3β-hydroxycycloart-25-en-24-one, cycloeucalenol, β-sitosterol, 3β-amyrin acetate, and other constituents.

The total alkaloids of Ervatamia divaricata have pharmacological effects in preventing and treating morphine dependence. Using a morphine psychological dependence model and the mouse hot-plate analgesia model, the inhibitory effect of the total alkaloids on morphine-induced conditioned place preference (CPP) in mice and their own psychological dependence potential were preliminarily evaluated. The results showed that the total alkaloids inhibit morphine-induced CPP in mice and are not addictive themselves.
