It contains quercetin-5-glucoside, quercitrin, chlorogenic acid, arbutin, and related compounds.

1. Cardiotonic effect: Adding 0.01 mL of the freshly squeezed filtrate or 1:1 ethanol extract of Saxifraga stolonifera to isolated frog heart preparations showed a certain cardiotonic effect. After calcium removal, the extract still had an excitatory effect on the heart, though weaker than before decalcification. Its cardiotonic effect occurs more slowly than that of calcium chloride but lasts longer. 2. Diuretic effect: Intravenous injection of 1 mL/kg of the ethanol extract in anesthetized dogs and conscious rabbits produced a marked diuretic effect. Even after destruction of the glycosides contained in the extract, a certain diuretic effect remained.
