Amur Corktree Bark

It contains alkaloids such as berberine, jatrorrhizine, magnoflorine, phellodendrine, N-methylhordenine, palmatine, and menisperine; it also contains obakunone, obaculactone, dictamnolactone, obakunonic acid, lumicaeruleic acid, 7-dehydrostigmasterol, β-sitosterol, and campesterol. The root bark contains berberine, jatrorrhizine, phellodendrine, and N-methylhordenine.

1. Anti-pathogenic microorganism effect: The aqueous decoction or alcohol extract of Phellodendron bark shows varying degrees of inhibition in vitro against Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus albus, Staphylococcus citreus, hemolytic streptococci, pneumococci, Bacillus anthracis, diphtheria bacilli, Bacillus subtilis, Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, typhoid and paratyphoid bacilli, meningococci, and Vibrio cholerae. 2. Antipyretic and anti-inflammatory effects: It has a certain fever-reducing effect.
