Ingredients

It contains hernandulcin-like bitter principles, palmatine-type alkaloids, tinocordiside, palmatine, jatrorrhizine, and related constituents.

Therapeutic Effects

The decoction of this product strongly inhibits Staphylococcus aureus, acid-fast bacilli, and Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Palmatine-type alkaloids can cause thymic atrophy in animals, have anti-adrenaline effects, and stimulate the uterus of nonpregnant rabbits. Water or alcohol extracts can lower fasting blood glucose and improve glucose tolerance.

Precautions

Use with caution in patients with weak spleen and stomach, or in the absence of heat toxin or accumulation/stagnation.
