Chinese Fox-Glove Root

This product mainly contains iridoids, monoterpenes, and glycosides; it also contains various organic acids such as benzoic acid and phenylacetic acid, as well as sterols, amino acids, and other constituents.

This product can counteract the decrease in plasma corticosterone concentration after continuous dexamethasone administration. Its aqueous extract has a marked antihypertensive effect on acute experimental hypertension; it can increase the number of T lymphocytes in peripheral blood and enhance the phagocytic ability of the reticuloendothelial system; it also has anti-inflammatory, sedative, diuretic, hypoglycemic, and hepatoprotective effects. Its ethanol extract can shorten blood clotting time.
