Ingredients

It contains fumaric acid, succinic acid, cyanogenic glycosides, coumarins, and other constituents. The fresh leaves contain volatile oil, tannins, flavonoid glycosides, and related compounds.

Therapeutic Effects

This product shows varying degrees of inhibition against Staphylococcus aureus, dysentery bacilli, Escherichia coli, and others. Its aqueous extract has analgesic effects, promotes fracture healing, and has anti-experimental-ulcer effects. Ethanol and ether extracts have certain expectorant and antiasthmatic effects. Its water-soluble and volatile constituents have antitumor activity; at high doses, it has a certain immunosuppressive effect.

Precautions

Avoid use in patients with hyperactive fire due to yin deficiency and during pregnancy. It should be decocted first or decocted for a longer time.
